Summary
PagePixel — Capture & Annotate does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your browsing data, personal information, or screenshot content. Everything PagePixel captures and edits stays on your device.
What PagePixel does
PagePixel captures screenshots of the page you're currently viewing (visible area, full page, or a selected region), lets you annotate them in an editor, and exports the result as an image or PDF — either downloaded to your computer or copied to your clipboard.
What data we access, and why
- activeTab — lets PagePixel capture and, when you use Full Page or Selected Area mode, briefly scroll the page you click the toolbar icon on. PagePixel only acts on the tab you explicitly invoke it from.
- scripting — used to inject the small on-page helper script that measures page dimensions, scrolls the page for Full Page capture, and draws the drag-to-select overlay for Selected Area capture. It runs only when you trigger a capture.
- downloads — used only when you click Download, to save your exported image/PDF to your computer.
- clipboardWrite — used only when you click Copy, to place the image on your system clipboard.
- storage — remembers your last-used capture mode, delay, and direction settings locally, so the popup opens with your preferences next time.
A captured image is also held briefly in your browser's local IndexedDB (no special permission required for this) while it's handed off from the capture step to the editor tab, and is deleted as soon as the editor loads it.
PagePixel does not request access to your browsing history, does not run on pages you haven't explicitly captured from, and does not include any remote code, analytics, or third-party trackers.
Data sharing
PagePixel does not send any data — screenshots, page content, or otherwise — to any server, and has no backend of its own. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties, because nothing leaves your browser in the first place.
